Morals?!

At first glance the following quote may see ridiculous, but the more you think about it, the more it makes sense and the more life examples you can think of that support it.

It relates well to my previous blog on rule books.

Love

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. – Matthew 22:37 (KJV)

shivaThis verse points toward something far more significant than one may at first realize.

To know God, to really know God, one must first be aware and awake on the very deepest level of existence.

There, love takes on a meaning vastly different and more significant.  It is all consuming.  It is the very material the universe is made of.  The movement, too, as well as the ‘goal’ of the entire universe, is experienced as love itself… all things gravitating back to the ocean that birthed, eternally is, and remains the goal of all action, all that is in unified oneness.

All things gravitate back to Shiva.

The sum total of the movement, the essence, and the goal taken as one, is the Krishna value.  Krishna Consciousness is the name given to the level of enlightenment underlying the verse above.  It is the loss of the self as it is known to be.  It is total consumption in the Love of God.  The individuality is gone.  Only God remains.  It is not an emotional state.  It is a level of enlightenment.

It is existence in totality directly experienced as it truly is.

The “Real World”

lotus flowerI just returned to Mount Soma from a wonderful class in San Francisco.  It had a bit of a different feeling from any class I have ever given.

One memorable moment was when someone said that they felt that they needed to live in the “real world” which is what they are accustomed to.  My relationship with this person is so long standing and solid that I knew I could respond bluntly. “You mean that twisted pinball machine of a world?”

Her smile invited me to go on, “You call that the real world?  What a strange relationship with life… with the notion of reality.  It is as if you are so accustomed to living in a meat grinder that it has become the only reality you believe in.  Life is not meant to be the way your ‘real world’ has led you to believe.”

She responded very well.  It was, I believe, eye-opening for her.  After a brief pause I could not help but to look down, shake my head, and mutter under my breath, “The real world.”

Life is meant to be evolutionary.  “Street Smart” is a rationalization for looking out at life while your nose is in the gutter and deciding that things stink.

Do not allow yourself to live that kind of life.  Bringing forth the Age of Enlightenment is about birthing a lotus flower out of the muddy swamp.

Please do not live a life where you believe the mud is the real world.  If you must believe in a “Real World,” believe in the lotus flower and join me to bring it forth for all humanity.

That is not so far away, but we must keep our eye on the ball.

How Are You Doing?

DiwaliIf you have been having a bit of a hard time lately, please hang in there just a bit longer!

Sun and Mars are in their signs of debilitation (they stay in a sign for about a month or so).  Saturn will continue to be vargottama in Virgo until mid-November.

Moon has been debilitated and conjunct Rahu for a couple days and will be for another day.  Mars is about to go out of debilitation.  Sun has a couple more weeks to go.

If things have been difficult for you lately, as I have seen for a number of people, a Winston Churchill quote might apply:

Politics is almost as exciting as war and quite as dangerous. In war you can only be killed once, but in politics – many times.

This is true not only of politics but also of life in general, and certainly in matters of the heart.

As a spiritual teacher, I pour my heart out.  I lead with my heart.  It affects me deeply when people are not doing well.

Yet there is only so much I can do. And sometimes, as I have said before, the best gift you can give someone is to just give time and space.  As I write this, I can think of a number of different people who likely think I am writing it just to them… and I guess they are each right.  Hang in there.
