I received the following question:
~
If life on planet earth becomes chaos, are we supposed to make our way to Mount Soma? Or will the doors be closed at that point?
~
To which I responded:
~
‘Make hay while the sun shines.’
~
If chaos is to come, why wait for the chaos to restructure your life?
~
If chaos is to come, resistance will only be greater. Why wait until the wind is in your face before you try to move forward?
~
As to the gates being closed, the gates to Mount Soma will never close.
~
However, karma being what it is, the gates that constrain your life close when they do.
~
If chaos is to increase, making your way to Mount Soma could well be more difficult from your side, but certainly not from the side of Mount Soma.
~
Simple, yes?

The follow article was run throughout south India:
~
http://expressbuzz.com/lifestyle/the-master-on-the-mountain/278379.html
~
In response to which I received a number of lovely emails including the following:
~
I am still digesting the experience of being back there with you [during the temple inauguration], but it was powerfully moving.
~
When I would look at you during the ceremony, you seemed deeper than I’ve ever experienced. Even now, in looking at pictures of you at the event, the darshan flows out much more strongly than before.
~
It might just be me, but it feels like a reality-changer.
~
Sanjay’s article seems to say it isn’t just me, and clearly he’s seeing the value of what is offered.
~
After years of wondering what it would be like if there was a temple, now we have direct experience… insert string of unfathomable adjectives here.
~
To which I responded:
~
It is all based upon the one fundamental premise: alignment with natural law. Few really understand what that means.
~
They may think instead, “Oh, he was persistent and that is what did it.” or
~
“Oh, he was bold and lucked out” or
~
“Oh, it could not have been alignment with natural law because he did not conform to my belief system of what that is supposed to look like” or
~
“Oh, he followed powerful Hindu philosophy and that is what did it.” or
~
“Oh, he was a persuasive speaker.”
~
Any amount of rationale will rise, but we know better. The world is not as people have been lead to believe.
~
Alignment with natural law is not attained through superficiality: belief systems, religious codes, rules, being clever, or being shrewd. It is much deeper.
~
It looks like nothing of this world because it is of that which transcends this world.
~
Many things claim to point in the direction of “it”, but nothing in the relative can really do that.
~
Truth is not a concretion. Truth is an abstraction… no-thing-ness. Yet it is to the concrete, to things, which humanity clings. Alignment with natural law, means life in accord with that which transcends life.
~
As stated in the Veda, even the Veda finds fulfillment is it own annihilation.
~
To live better, humanity must learn to look deeper.

All things find fulfillment in their own annihilation.
~
Emancipation means knowing you do not exist. That must become as self evident to you as your hand in front of your face. Even more so, because you can move your hand away.
~
It is called spiritual liberation for a reason. Liberation from what? Illusion… the illusion that things exist.
~
The world is virtual, like the image on your television screen. It is a fantastic playground and evolutionary schoolhouse.
~
It offers great love and beauty. Yet ultimately, it is seen for what it is… a monumental illusion.

~
Most commonly, life is viewed and evaluated based upon your belief system. How you believe things work or should work. That is based upon conditioning… samskaras… impressions that have programmed your thoughts and feelings.
~
There is a better way.
~
See how things actually are. Observe what actually IS.
~
This is not as easy as it may sound.
~
To take a step back and see how people actually behave is the gateway to under-standing people. The universe does not hide its secrets, not even its deepest secrets. Everything is right there in front of you.
~
God is not far away at all. Free yourself. Learn to see what actually is. This requires evolution – a shift in your consciousness. It is not an attitude, it is a physiological state.
~
It means to perceive, not project. The world is not as you have been led to believe.
~
What life is and what seems to make sense to you can be two very different things.

Function from feeling, not thought.
~
You can justify anything with thoughts… with the intellect. Learn to feel deeply.
~
Yet feeling deeply is often confused with feeling intensely. Deep feelings are refined feelings. They are the gateway to wisdom.
~
At the foundation of your life is being. It emerges into relativity as the finest of feelings. Then, it blossoms into reason. Finally it emerges at thoughts. As the physiology purifies (as you evolve), this process becomes more integrated, less distorted.
~
Einstein did not think up the unified field. He felt it. Through reflection, that feeling seemed reasonable. Only then did it emerge as a concrete thought. Genius is nothing more than integration.
~
Concepts are the finest of thoughts. Facts are more superficial.
~
Yet many think if they know all about spirituality, then they are wise. Not so. Too superficial.
~
Wisdom is far more profound than the simple parroting of wise words and pantomiming of alleged ‘sagacious ‘acts.

Some situations are simply difficult and would result in misery for most anyone.
~
However, if you and your loved ones have reasonable health, sufficient food, and a place to sleep at night, and misery still seems to follow you around, it is likely that something else is going on.
~
Think of a piece of folded, (creased) paper. Unfold that paper and then push on it. The paper will fold on that same crease every time.
~
Your psycho-physiology is the same. Your psyche is primarily based upon the physiology of your nervous system. If there is a fatigue in some aspect of your nervous system that relates to your psyche, it will result in a recurring ‘fold in your paper,’ so to speak – causing a specific negative emotion to recur. It may be misery or anger or something else.
~
This sort of fatigue is deeply trenched in the physiology. Sleep alone rarely heals it. Meditation is your best tool. The best meditation for this (as well as for evolution toward enlightenment) is taught for free.
~
There is another very important tool you can use. Learn to not indulge the negative emotion. Find a way out! That can involve by simply choosing to think another way in the moment.
~
For example, the other day I was running late for a ceremony and could not find the proper clothes to wear. Searching every drawer and closet, as soon as I felt myself getting frustrated, I decided to think another way. “It is okay.” I told myself. “I can just wear something else.” I did just that and all was fine. Remember: What you put your attention on grows stronger.
~
There is an appropriate time to explore a negative emotion to attempt to free it up. You can feel the feeling and ask where it came from in childhood, etc. This can be of real value. However, people who get on to that approach often over do it.
~
We have all seen balloons that inflate to become a cat or heart shape or any number of other shapes. When there is not sufficient air in the balloon, it is wrinkled and the shape is distorted. Your physiology is like a balloon. It must be filled with energy and consciousness for you to be happy. It is just that simple.
~
I have just summarized the tools you need to do this. Now it is up to you.

How to pronounce the R in the mantra ‘Ram’?
~
It is not a hard ‘R’ as in gr-r-r-r like the growl of a tiger
~
It is not like the European rolled R.
~
It is properly pronounced by forming your lips to make an R sound, but then saying Lam. The sound of the R is between R and L.
~
If you cannot do this right now, then just say Lam. That is much better than saying Ram with a gr-r-r like R.
~
Then, keeping the R/L combination sound in mind, in time, it will come to you naturally.
~
It is important to use this sound while meditating. However, in conversation, for example when referring to Lord Rama, it is fine to speak it with the hard gr-r-r-r R sound. Even Indians often do that. This ‘R’ sound applies to many Sanksrit terms, such a Surya.
~
REMEMBER: This is Sanskrit, which is cognized, which means the language of nature. By learning to make these sounds, you are aligning your being with your nature… Mother Nature.
~
NOTE: When learning to meditate, it is best to begin with the Surya Ram Meditation which is taught for free. After a month or two, it is best to then switch to the Surya Ram Meditation with Advanced Technique. We offer a dvd with an instruction booklet for free. You just need to pay shipping and handling.

You are not your body. You are not your thoughts. You are not your emotions. Having said that once in a lecture, a woman raised her hand and bewilderedly asked, “Well, what else is there.”
~
Shocked and saddened, I answered, “What lies beyond the body, thoughts, and emotions is the grandeur of your being… limitless, unbounded, and eternal.”
~
To intellectually know that is a good beginning. To awaken to it is marvelous. Do not mistake the beginning for the goal.
~
Reflecting upon this, I once asked a student with whom I was having lunch in a restaurant, “Tell me something. When you look at this salt shaker, do you not see it is God?”
~
He responded by saying, “I have heard your lectures and know you say it is God. I believe you and try to see that. But honestly, when I look at it, all I see is a salt shaker.”
~
I strive to understand what life like that is like. That makes me a better teacher. However, it would be better if you worked to see what I see.
~
The best of what you are goes unnoticed by you. Relativity is lightly etched on the face of being, yet it is what this world is made of. It is truly the world of wanting. Relativity, duality, is the world of separation… the world of wanting.
~
Strive to cultivate awareness so you can be in it, but not lost to it. That is not an attitude or philosophy. It is a state of consciousness.
~
Knowledge, as it is said, is structured in consciousness. Facts only point in a direction. They are all too often confused with Truth.

I have a favor to ask all of you.
~
I am simply buried in emails – literally hundreds. I do not know if I can possibly respond to them all.
~
Not only was I unable to respond to emails during the Kumbhabhisekam, but a wave of questions have been pouring in over the past few days. Many of them are asking the same few questions.
~
Please be patient and understand that a blog will be coming out to address these questions.
~
Also, if I do not respond to your recent email, please understand. If they are truly pressing, please resubmit in a couple of weeks.

The Swastika is of course a sacred symbol. Unfortunately, it was made infamous by the Nazis.
~
Like the Christian cross, it is formed by two intersecting lines. The right angle turns in those lines indicate that the path to God is not a straight line.
