Deep within every individual is Divinity. As awareness expands one becomes more and more fully conscious… more and more aware of the Pure Consciousness that underlies and structures existence. When awareness is limited, it does not clearly experience that structure, that intelligence. Unclear echoes of that structure are reached for in attempts to understand life, to understand this world. Those echoes form impressions on the mind. Those impressions are identified with as truth.
The spiritual path is the path to freedom from those impressions. It is called the path of discernment. Surya Ram Meditation provides the most powerful, most fundamental form of discernment.
Transgradient Counseling cultivates discernment. Discernment means integration of the surface with the depth, alignment of the surface with the depth… freedom from echoes.

We get a fair number of stray cats around our house. Some of them are incredibly peaceful and affectionate. So it’s very easy to be kind with them and try to find out if they have a home nearby. In some cases, when they end up living under our porch for a number of months and it is clear they don’t have a place to live, Judi often finds them a good home.
There’s a whole spectrum of behavior among these cats, ranging from very tame and affectionate to completely wild and unapproachable. If you do happen to accidentally corner one of the wilder ones, they are all claws and fangs.
It saddens me to see how these cats seal their own fate based upon their behavior. You wish you could just let the wild ones know to calm down—everything’s fine. They are creating their own problems. Of course, you can’t do that.
Humans are strikingly the same way. We create our own heaven or hell, determined by our relationship with the world.

Classes for me are a wonderful opportunity to take a step back from all the busyness of my life. It is my great joy to have a few days to sit and explore the Knowledge with everyone. To be with, and commune with, so many people I care about feeds my soul. It is something I long for. It’s something we all long for. Yet, in our busy lives, we often don’t take time to accommodate that. For me, classes are that great gift of time to commune.
The first of the three days was more just a time of being together and settling in. It was sort of a regrouping and brushing away the cobwebs of our overly demanding daily schedules. Admittedly, at the end of the day I had some concern. Realizing how much I had been pushing, I felt like I had to strive to overcome the fatigue I felt in my body and wondered if I therefore had done everyone there a disservice. As it turned out, the feedback was wonderful. Everyone cherished the settled, reflective communion of visiting together. A little surprising to me was the feedback regarding all the deep content that I included in that day. To me, everything in life is profound. As it turned out, that profundity and beauty I feel for all of life shined through.
Rejuvenated, the next two days were packed with Knowledge. As with every class that I give, I feel some sadness about the people who were unable to attend. I never repeat the same class twice. Audio tapes or written summaries only convey a small fraction of the content.
Life is all too often reduced to a handful of facts or concepts. It is the texture of life—inaccessible through mere accounts, thoughts, and concepts—that gives it meaning, that gives it depth. Most of what is accomplished in the classes is through our shared presence. After all, healing is a feeling, a state of Being, a state of physiology. As we open to that, we become full, whole, within our own selves.

I just posted a new article on LinkedIn titled “How to Expedite Negotiations”. Comments on the article itself are welcome. The article begins:
"Negotiations generally involve multiple people telephone conferencing or sitting around the table. Remarkably, even at the highest levels, personalities count more than anything, even more than facts and rationality. By managing personalities and artfully integrating them with facts and logic, you become the most valuable person at the table…"

When I give a lecture on anything, my mind goes an unlimited number of directions at the same time. My thoughts are not like a line or thought stream going from point A to B to C, etc. Instead, it is like a growing snowflake simultaneously expanding out in every direction from a point. Speech goes in a line: speech is linear. In contrast, nature radiates out like snowflakes from every point in existence simultaneously.
To more fully understand one “line” or reasoning (pun intended), all the other lines interconnected with it must also be understood and related to. There are an infinite number of such lines simultaneously going on eternally creating exquisite, multidimensional, interconnected snowflakes at every point throughout creation. All those snowflakes are interconnected. It is as if all existence is a giant Maha-snowflake… a giant crystal. To really understand anything, everything is understood, must be understood.
The human mind is a mapping (a mini version) in perfect correlation with the entire universe. What is inside is outside. All the interconnections are there within your awareness. It is simply a matter of more and more fully awakening to it.
The programs I offer, the talks I give, are all vehicles to expand the participant’s awareness in that interconnected crystalline manner. Some listen and in their minds strive to force my words along one line, one linear progression of thought. If they can succeed in doing that, they feel they understood what I said. In a way, that is a terrible waste. But then again, the influence is there and received to the extent it can be. Over time, the listener be willing, awareness expands. The words are heard in new, more expanded ways. The dots are connected, i.e. the interconnections are made by the listener, consciously and unconsciously. As awareness expands, the dust clears and the cobwebs are brushed away.
All knowledge is contained within you, within your awareness. It is just a matter of awareness, of awakening the interconnections that are already there within you.

L.A. Reid offers some beautiful words:
“My greatest advice is: I don’t see obstacles. I just see the destination and I charge toward the destination.”
“My secret weapon is my mom. Yea, motivation, confidence. My mom told me, when you’re in a room, the room is a better room because you’re in it.”

Human evolution, maturity, is about the integration of thoughts, emotion, and soul. Success in this arena is very much a physiological state. When the heart and mind do not function in unison, life becomes a mess. The mind may get triggered by a notion or occurrence. The individual, if not well integrated, spins out. It’s like an instinctual knee-jerk reaction over which that person has no control. For some, this happens in a moment and it passes quickly. A minimal degree of emotional incontinence such as this is normal and understandable. After all, we are all human.
However, some people seem to be in a permanent state of emotional incontinence. Once an experience triggers an emotional upheaval, they are unable to get past it. Their emotional bias is never ending, intense, and overrides any level of rational thought. The mind then is used as a tool to justify the emotionally incontinent state.
So, how do you overcome emotional incontinence? Of course, number one is proper meditation. Through proper meditation the physiology normalizes (integrates).
Secondly, personal process is important, which is why I developed the whole field of Transgradient Counseling™. All personal process is not integrative. Some forms of personal process even breaks down integration, offering nothing more than a belief system or justification to cling to.
Number three, is cultivating a healthy second response. After the initial spasm of emotional incontinence, you can learn to take a step back and reevaluate, question your perspective, and explore how it may be improved upon.
Lastly, in my lectures and classes, I offer an understanding of life that helps people wisely navigate the ocean of life. It is invaluable to get some understanding of what you’re doing and how you’re functioning in a context of how life works and what it actually is.
