Bringing in The Year of Positivity

positivityLet’s go through the upcoming year remembering it is The Year of Positivity.

From time to time, take a step back and review the tone with which you frame things.  Remember the blog about two dots (facts) and how you connect the dots of your life within your heart and mind?  Attitude is a habit.  This is the year to establish the healthy habit of positivity.  Connect the dots of your world in a positive manner.

This is not to encourage oblivion.  Not at all.  It is to see with eyes wide open, constructively wide open.  I am talking about culturing a state of physiology.  An acid stomach is upset by nearly everything that is consumed.  The same is true of the heart and mind.  It is just that simple.  How do you digest life?  Did you know that Soma (the nectar of life) is the product of healthy digestion?  Health is cultivated.  A positive approach is a healthy approach.  It’s just that simple.

Everyone wants to be happy.  Happiness comes from inside, not outside.  It is a mentality.  It is a state of physiology. Happiness is the state of spontaneously connecting the dots of your life in a constructive manner.   It is cultivated through a positive attitude toward life.  Happiness is not a belief system.  It is not a set of circumstances.  It is a state of physiology cultivated largely by how you connect the dots of your life.  Your mind is powerful.

As my father used to say,  “Count your blessings.”   Is the cup of your life half empty or half full?  The best way to fill your cup is through a positive approach.  How do you spontaneously frame things in your heart and mind?  This is not to be explored as a way of grading yourself. It is an invitation to embrace and live a healthy, rather than an unhealthy, life.  Create that healthy habit.  It is something cultivated through inspiration, not self-judgment.  Inspire yourself to aspire to the greatness of positivity.  The lotus flower rises out of the muddy swamp.

The color of your glasses determines the color with which you paint all of your life experiences.  You create your world in the form of how you perceive it.  Perception is a habit.  Meditation is your most powerful tool for evolution.  However, clinging to old unconstructive habits is a drag on the process.   Let’s create a beautiful world in 2012, the Year of Positivity.

It is in this context that I wish you all a very HAPPY New Year!!!!

Proclaiming 2012 The Year of Positivity

shoreWe have done well.  Through many years of dedication, the light of life is shining forth.

When you clean your home, dust is naturally stirred.  Similarly, the purification of heart and mind stirs the dust, which can be experienced as negative thoughts and emotions.  That is why negativity is sometimes experienced through the purification process.  As the Unified Field Generator of Mount Soma continues to manifest, purification rises.  It is as if we are riding a bigger and bigger bull as time goes by. This process will carry our world to an Enlightened Age.

When you first put you toe in a bathtub of warm water, it can feel too hot.  After a time in the tub however, it is soothing and warm. As you purify a deeper level of your being, there may be a period of roughness or negativity.  Know the negativity that comes up to be purification.  At times it may even feel extreme.  Knowing it for what it is will greatly help you navigate the waters of your evolution.

Fortunately, we have now broken through the surface!  It is like a spaceship piercing the atmosphere during re-entry. We are now entering a stage of great positivity for the world.  By keeping your attention there, it will come more quickly. We can all offer our gratitude to those pioneers who ‘broke the ice’ of re-entry.  The dust will clear away now.  Any negative thoughts or feelings are a waste of time.  Do not suppress them.  If you do, they will stay with you longer.  But it is very important that you do not dwell on them.  Just brush them out of your mind as you would a piece of lint floating around your head.

Monitor your thinking.  It creates your world.  Choose the positive.  If you have through the years taken on a negative viewpoint of the world, take a deeper look within.  Evolve your thinking.  This is not to be oblivious.  It is only to put all things in the proper context.  We have arrived at a time where this can be done.  You only need to decide to do so. Divinity is the essence of all things.  That is simply the truth of how life is.  Know the dust for what it is.  Do not lose yourself to dust.  You are one with God.

Remember: When a great Master was asked what keeps a person from knowing God, he responded, “Negative thoughts.”

We have arrived at The Shore of the Age of Enlightenment.  Time to take leave of the old tattered vessel that has carried you here.

2012 is The Year of Positivity.

Conditioning

“Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.”  – Einstein

monkeysThe world is not as you have been lead to believe.  When you see and feel past the veil of what appears to be, you see that you are the backdrop of all that is.  You are one with the Divine.

Simple in concept.  Highly elusive in direct knowing.

Even these words are not perceived for what they are until that time comes.  Yet it is that longing to see past the veil that keeps you going until the moment of transformation arrives.

As Ananda Mayi Ma said, “The longing for God, is in and of itself, the path to God.”  The longing is like gravity, which returns every drop of water back to the ocean guaranteed.  It is only a matter of time, how long you hold on to conditioned thoughts and feelings – even the thoughts and feeling of God.

When you become enlightened, everything changes in an instant.  It comes about gradually, but then all of a sudden. Echoes of truth, perceived as truth, hold truth at bay.  Look beyond what you currently believe.  Current beliefs are the chains that bind you.  Humility is the flip side of wisdom. Receive this as inspiration and you are well on your way. Keep going.

The Kingdom of Heaven awaits you.

Who Do You Trust?

treeDo you trust your superego more than yourself? Superego, of course, is that parental inner voice, the voice of authority figures in general.  It tells you who and what you are supposed to be and lays down the law of right and wrong, insisting that you abide by it, regardless of what you feel or think.

It seems like a contradiction that someone would trust a superego more than themselves.  Yet, it is most common.  After the superego, for some people, comes their attorney.  They do what their attorney says, trusting his judgment more than their own.  The list goes on: healers, psychics, jyotishis, and those with whom you are not familiar.

When you befriend someone, they become familiar.  When someone become familiar, they are often taken off their pedestal of projection, and you are then less inclined to trust them.  How odd that to trust someone often means they must keep at arm’s length.

Others may look to their spiritual teacher, turning themselves over to that guiding light in the sky.  I do my best to not tell you what to think, but instead help you think for yourself.  Admittedly, that is a slippery slope, giving you the opportunity to justify the superego, petty inclinations, etc.  But to find truth within yourself, you must learn to wisely discern for yourself.

It seems that somewhere toward the bottom of the list, people trust themselves.  Society, parents, friends, authority figures, and even critics judge you.  That sends many into a tailspin of self-doubt.  To reflect and ponder in the name of finding truth is wise.  But that is very different than allowing yourself to go into a tailspin, where the anchor of the self offers little stability.

Who do you trust?  If you trust in God, then you must find God within.  God found anywhere else is nothing more than a facet of your superego.  That which lies outside of you can be used as touchstones, but only touchstones along the path of self-discovery.

Truth lies within you as you.

Till the Soil

plantsThrough the years our focus has shifted from time to time from things such as hands on healing, to transgradient counseling, to jyotish, to vaastu, to various modes of healing, and now to the Temple.

There are many flowers in the garden of life and you do well to know of them.  You will be drawn to one or the other to varying degrees as determined by your nature. Yet it is good to be aware of them all.

I have noticed through the years, whatever we are focusing on at a particular time disturbs those who have an affinity in another direction.  You would do well to explore whatever arena is being presented at a given time.

My teachings are designed to open you to deeper and deeper levels within.

Exploration tills the soil that facilitates the self-correcting mechanism.  Plants grow best in tilled soil.

Cultural Integrity

cultural integrityI understand that with the appearance of the temple some may wonder if I am a Hindu.  I have spoken of cultural integrity so, so many times.  But here it goes one more time.

I am a westerner.  I have no intention of trying to become Indian or Hindu.  I am what I am.  A big part of my teaching is cultural integrity.  Cultures should not blur together any more than colors in a painter’s arsenal should all be mixed into one heap.  They must each keep their own integrity, yet they must learn to live in harmony with one and other.  I know that if misunderstood, this sounds like segregation with all its prejudicial baggage, but it is not.  There is a huge difference between cultural integrity and prejudice.  Are the inclinations you feel within yourself those of cultural integrity or prejudice?  This arena merits exploration.

I have a deep respect for the culture out of which Vedic knowledge was birthed and has been upheld.  It is the portal through which we have been given access to the Knowledge of Natural Law (the Veda).  The temple then is approached through that portal.  It honors the integrity of that culture.  That culture has provided the pipeline to, the conduit to, the technology of the Unified Field.  Like physics or any other science, the Knowledge is universal.  The Veda is universal.  Sanskrit is not Indian, it is universal.  However, our access to all that knowledge is via the Indian culture. That is not to say that everything Indian is Vedic.  But our access to Vedic knowledge is certainly through that culture.

Can you uphold your own integrity while honoring another’s or not?  In a nutshell, that is what cultural integrity is all about.  It is what the world must learn to do.  It is what we are creating a model of (for the world) at Mount Soma.  As I have said, it will take about 3 years to put it all together here at Mount Soma.  We must provide a space for each culture to rest comfortably within its own nature.  This will take some time. It will require some patience. Completion of the Student Union next month will help a great deal. At that time, the Mountain View room in the Learning Center will become a cultural center for the temple.

Over the next few years, let’s take care to keep our eye on that ball and not get confused regarding our purpose, who we/you are, and cultural integrity.

Do you want peace on earth?  Do you really?  Then let’s start here and now and create it for the entire world.

The Art of Speech

surya

First use your heart to determine what you want to say.  Then use your mind to determine the best way of saying it.

Doing the opposite is a terrible betrayal, tying both your heart and your mind into self-compromising knots.

Before you speak, first feel into what your soul really would like to share.  Then take enough time to find the way to say it.

The Sun, the Moon, and You

sun_moon

There was a solar eclipse on November 24.  There will be a lunar eclipse during the full moon in December.  It is said that it is best to not look at a lunar eclipse or eat during that night.

What do you believe, and why?

Most are so identified with whatever they have been conditioned and indoctrinated to believe that it is difficult for them to learn anything truly new.  Instead they look at life only to extract whatever will reinforce their current belief system and reject the rest.

An open mind is not enough.  It must also be a reasonable/logical mind.  If you can integrate an open mind with the ability to think reasonably, logically, then there is no limit to what you can attain.

I say again, the world is not as you have been lead to believe.  There is good reason why the Sun and Moon appear the same size in the sky.

For there to be life, fire and water, Agni and Soma, must be in balance.

Imagination

Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were.
But without it we go nowhere.  –
Carl Sagan

fairyI love this quote.  To become free, you must learn to think freely.  Do not be afraid to imagine.  Massage your thoughts.  Do not demand that they be exact, right out of the box.

Cultivate relationships that support you in this regard.  Thoughts are not meant to be etched in stone. They are meant to evolve as you explore them.  I do not plan canned lectures.  I share my thoughts, my process, with others.  That is a far greater gift than a set of stagnant facts.

The end point of exploration is not the fruit, not the essence.   There, in fact, is no end point.  Life is alive. It continues to grow. It is an evolutionary process, as essential to life as breathing. If canned, it withers and dies. Trying to hold still in the name of growth is a contradiction. Rigidity is for wood boards, not people.

Evolution is life. You are free to evolve. Don’t fight it.

Neti, Neti, Neti – not that, not that, not that – is the nature of life.  Waiting for. or demanding the perfect ‘that’ is a death trip.  Evolution is an ongoing process toward ‘that’ while every step along the way is ‘not that.’

Playfully expressed, life is a series of failures.  When you delight at that thought, you are on your way.

I do love the quote.
