Enlightenment is no small thing. Most everyone reading this likely believes they know that. But do they? Do they really?
Great saints have attained their sainthood by steadfastly overcoming incredible obstacles… one after another, after another. Quite simply, they were willing to endure whatever it took to attain enlightenment… year after year of relentless one-pointed devotion.
When you look at most people, even ‘spiritually aware’ individuals, it is quite a different story. They may feel a little purification (as roughness) at a long meditation retreat and decide they will never do that again. They may see that they do not really have many friends going to a particular class, so they decide not to go. They may have a little conflict with someone and therefore decide to ‘throw in the towel’. Maybe the bathroom accommodations were not quite to their liking. Maybe Starbucks is just a little too far away from the monastery for their liking!
So I ask again… Do you have the right stuff? What are you devoted to… really?
Someone once said that they did not want to do the Ashram Program because they wanted to stay in ‘the real world’. I responded by asking them if they really believed that the pinball machine they lived in was ‘the real world’. It is not. It is merely the illusion that keeps you hooked… lifetime after lifetime… chasing that mirage, that dangling carrot, like a dog chasing its tail.
Time is running out. Re-evaluate your priorities. Bliss awaits you, but you must do what it takes to become free of your addictions.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it–always.”
– Mahatma Ghandi
There is a very profound message here. Namely, that what underlies all of life, all of existence, is the Unified Field. It is a field of infinite harmony and perfection. It is the foundation upon which everything rests, just as the depth of the ocean supports all the waves on the surface. Everything comes from that and returns to it. That which is not in harmony with that, loses the support of that foundation, and is short lived.
One country may overtake another in battle, but in time, the people of that land renew their rule of that land. Every person, every nation, every thing has its own essential divine nature. To eventually come to rest in that is the course of all of life.
Nature supports.

“A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.” – Edward R. Murrow
Prejudice reaches far beyond the limits that most project upon it. This is particularly so in how one views ones own personal prejudices. Through prejudice, you create your world.
Most information is wrong information.
Putting all that together, you may feel there is little hope… no way out of the illusion. However, it is through the awareness of this nature of life combined with the dedication to Truth that you will navigate the waters of life and ultimately attain wisdom.
Life’s beauty lies in its elusive nature. The spiritual path is the path of discernment.
Discernment arises with the integration of heart and mind, both discovering their roots in the same one thing.

A comment including the question, “How do you fix a nation that doesn’t want to fix itself?” was posted in my last blog. My answer is below.
The solution to not only this but all problems is the same one thing: Awakening of world consciousness to pure consciousness.
By infusing pure consciousness (the Unified Field) into relative existence, all is healed. It is like watering the root of a plant to feed all aspects of the plant.
Pure consciousness is the underlying basis of all existence. It is the source of infinite harmony, peace, intelligence, awareness, health, divinity, wisdom, truth, etc.
It is as if a whirlpool of identity with that which is more superficial than pure consciousness has overtaken the world.
You too are pulled in that direction. To live better, humanity must look deeper. “Heat” is generated by the friction created when identity is too superficial… lost to relativity. To cool the planet is to move group consciousness more deeply. Otherwise we are merely rearranging the same old furniture in our home, hoping it will make the furniture new.
To answer directly your question, I say, Awaken world consciousness to pure consciousness, the Unified Field. The fastest and best way to do this is to build Unified Field Generators, i.e. Enlightened Cities. They will radiate the light of life to all existence. We are starting with one, Mount Soma. It will serve as a guiding light for humanity.

I remember…
It was over 30 years ago when I first learned the Siddhis. While deep within the transcendent a feeling of solidity, far beyond the solidity I had felt through meditative transcending, overtook me. It permeated my body. I remember trying to describe the feeling… “I feel like a walnut… solid, fixed, strong, established.”
The transcendent is solid but unstructured… infinite, but without edge… all pervasive. This feeling was very different… infinitely integrated… as if all pieces of the infinite puzzle of life fit together into a solid integrated field of Oneness. Yet no piece was dissolved or lost. The integration was so complete that ‘other’ and ‘all one’ created a state of oneness in unity. This is integration… wholeness… Holiness.
It is not an attitude. It is not about choosing to be strong. It can not be adhered to via behavioral modification. It is not superficial… not a personality trait. It is not forceful, aggressive, macho or controlling. All of those things are superficial… of the personality. It is rooted in the deepest level of existence, where Oneness births multiplicity. From that level it wells up to permeate the entire physiology… body and mind, heart and soul. It certainly has little if anything to do with what society portrays as strong. It is a state of physiology.
It is the ‘Iron Ball.’

When one is not rapidly evolving, they are essentially like a single point in space. From the perspective of that one point, a line can be drawn through it in any direction and be argued as just as valid as any other line.
However, after doing PROPER meditation for a while, another point is experienced. The newly discovered point is a more evolved state of being. Those two points determine a line that points in the direction of enlightenment… just beyond the horizon. That is what really gives your life deep meaning. That is when you really begin to evolve rapidly.
There was a great Guru who said to not even bother talking too much to people about spirituality until they have learned and practiced proper meditation. This is the reason why. Without those two points, most anything can be justified as valid.
In this world today, you are bombarded with a multitude of perspectives… unlimited lines through a single point. Anything can be and is rationalized with the intellect. If you allow yourself to be swayed by all those perspectives, you are cast into a tailspin that wastes time… wastes life.
It is an essential awakening to move in the direction of your evolution at least enough so you experience that next point. It lies within you. It is not what you have been told or have taken on from the outside. It is what you have become from the inside.
Only then do you know what direction to set the rudder and cast the sail. Then the real journey begins, as you tack your way over the ocean of karma in the direction of what lies just beyond the horizon.

Someone once said to his Guru, “I love you so much and feel like I would do anything you asked of me. But what if you told me to go jump off a bridge? Should I obey?”
The Guru simply responded by saying, “You know me by my teachings.”
Someone once asked one of my students if my school is a cult. The student responded by saying, “In a cult you are taught what to think. D. Mamas teaches you how to think for yourself.”
I say again that enlightenment is called “liberation” for a reason. You become free. Such questions as the one asked here of the Guru may appear to be rooted in the students allegiance to freedom. Actually, they are a statement of bondage to the fear of the loss of what is actually a false sense of freedom.
The Guru lights the light that illuminates the way. As one becomes increasingly free through the Guru’s teachings, one chooses of ones own free will the path that leads to greater emancipation, joy, peace, and fulfillment.
You are one with God, To find God within and live your life in accord with His will is not to lose your free will. It is to discover that His will and your true free will are one. Life in accord with Natural Law is a life of total freedom.
Just as each wave in the ocean rises and settles with its own unique timing, enlightened individuals act independently. Yet every wave rises and settles in total harmony with the underlying depth of the ocean. The Guru awakens you from your dream, and introduces you to the depth of your being. Simple.

It is a common legend.
The monkey put his hand in the jar and grasped the content within.
Unwilling to release his grip, he was unable to remove his fist from the jar.

The other day in the temple, the ashram people repeated a mantra in silence together. I felt the transcendental value enliven the depth of existence as they did so. It was significantly more palpable than even just a year ago. That is how I know my work is succeeding.
Many look for surface changes to confirm they are evolving… becoming more spiritual. They sometimes get discouraged, feeling there is not substantial enough change. Some even contrive a behavior, attitude or even speech pattern in an attempt to confirm that they are indeed evolving. Whole spiritual organizations conform to such surface manipulations. That is all wrong.
Spirituality is at the depth. The surface matters little. Or better said, there is far more freedom than you might believe. Spirituality does not look like anything in particular on the surface of life.
The Kingdom of Heaven lies deep, deep within.
