Paradigms and the Mapping Key

The paradigm with which a person is identified is like a rubberband. With new insights, the paradigm can be stretched, and though the stretching may feel very good, the rubberband-like identity springs right back to where it was. Through the years it has astounded me to witness how adamant people are about their paradigm identities. So many times people have come up to me, after one of my lectures thrilled them, to say they have been looking for those teachings their whole life and that they would never miss another lecture or class. Then they walk out the lecture hall door, snap back into their old paradigm identity, never to be seen again!

Maharishi Patanjali said it so well: The Chit (storehouse of impressions) is as if etched in stone. The resultant paradigm is fixed and inflexible. Yet as one evolves, one becomes more flexible and can align with the paradigm that best serves the moment. To truly embrace the Ancient Secrets of the Masters is to become flexible—to easily embrace other paradigms.

Ancient paradigms involved the principle of mapping in very profound ways. Havans and pPujas are based upon the principle. Ancient technologies apply the principle. Mount Soma is built upon the mapping principle of how a city/community can be constructed in a manner to map onto the country. To heal the country is to build and operate that community.

It has been remarkable to experience how powerful that technology, the mapping, is. To build Mount Soma, we followed the ancient vastu guidelines and anyone at Mount Soma who follows the news can see how powerful that connection is. As Mount Soma flourishes, the country will flourish. This is what the ancients taught and it is what we are in the process of accomplishing.

Your Jyotish for This Year

Happy Vedic New Year!

60% of your Jyotish (astrology) depends upon your moon chart. This means that you need to first have your Vedic astrology chart and then “spin” it to put the moon in the first house. Then the most important planets to interpret are the transiting Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu, and Ketu. The other planets transit too fast to be as much of a factor. The rest comes from interpreting your Rashi chart and merging all that together accordingly.

Then comes the Ugadi values that are very important influences. The graph below shows the Ugadi values. The numbers on the left are the signs for the moon. That is to say that if your moon is in Aries, for example, then your Ugadi values are Income 5, Expenses 5, Honor 3, Dishonor 1, and lucky number for the year is 9. The remedy for troubles would be to have the Rudrabhishekam performed, the more often the better.

The Ugadi values are the result of very important and complicated calculations. Pandit Prasad takes three months each year to make these calculations. Few jyotish astrologers take the time or even know how to make these very essential calculations.

Even deeper than the Ugadi values are the yearly Murtimantam calculations. For this, each planet for each individual has one of four values: Iron, Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Those values make ALL THE DIFFERENCE in a persons chart for the year. Gold and then silver giving the best results. Those calculations take the Ugadi values into account but go a step even deeper and more complicated. Unfortunately, how to calculate those values in a persons individual chart requires a tremendous amount of time and effort. Few astrologers even know about this. Because those calculations are so extensive and complicated, they have been neglected and lost to time.

However, by using the Ugadi chart below in context of what has been offered here, you can get a good idea of your jyotish for the year. Do keep in mind adrishta and apurva. I posted a podcast about this a short while ago that you can access at michaelmamas.com or clicking here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-michael-mamas-show/id1501096086.

Vasistha’s Coronavirus Cognition

VasisthaAs I have said in the past, there are two ways we can view new information that is not consistent with our current belief system. 1) we can reject and live in denial of it, or 2) we can transform our current beliefs to accommodate the new information. This is one of those things that is just too hard for many people to believe. Yet it is (and for thousands of years has been) right there in the Vedic literature.

Thousands of years ago, Vasistha spoke of the Coronavirus. He even used the word “Corona” in naming it. He said it was airborne, extremely small (i.e. microscopic), and entered through the nostrils. He gave a mantra for the healing of those afflicted. Though specifically for the Coronavirus, this mantra supports the healing and prevention of all viruses and all cancers. You can listen to it as much as you would like. It is available for you to listen to by clicking here.

Accordingly, as per our recent Temple Update, we will be doing a Dhanvanthari Healing Havan April 2. In case you did not see the update, you can view it by clicking here.

Ardra Nakshatra

Right now and until the end of April, Rahu is in Adra Nakshatra. All the other nakshatras are part of groups of five. Ardra is so powerful that it is the only nakshatra that stands alone. Ardra is the nakshatra of poison. Rahu agitates. So it makes sense that the Corona virus is active now.

Ardra is also a nakshatra of headstrong attitudes and anger. So it might be a good time to lay low and forgive others of their inflamatory behavior.

Scholars, Drugs, Fools and the Wise

Scholars tend to be “know it alls”.
As is said, “The only true knowing is knowing that you know no-thing.”
Of course, scholars “know” all about that.
So even then, they remain “know it alls”.

Most in this world are addicted to a drug, of one sort or another.
Drugs turn people into “know it alls”.
That drug mentality has become main stream.
Often with minimal information, perhaps over lunch or on a street corner, perspectives are quickly formed and solidly held.
Often perspectives are based upon what is heard in a biased “classroom” or biased “newsroom”.

Facts are but dots on a page.
A perspective dictates just one way those dots can be connected.
A set of connecting lines is all too often called “knowledge”.
Lives are too often based upon a set of dot connecting lines.
Oh, if life were only that simple.

Of course, some perspectives are just plain wrong.
Yet there are an infinite number of simultaneously valid yet contradictory perspectives.

The wise know no-thing.
The wise honor the set of lines most sincerely addressing the moment.
The wise can be passionate.
Yet the wise are humble.
The wise seem a paradox to the world.

Some call them weaklings.
Some call them fools.
Some call them flip flopping, mind-changing chameleons.
Some call them arrogant.
Some call them much worse.

Wisdom is not made of fixed perspectives.
The sum total of all the dot connecting lines nets out to no-thing, the only true knowing.
Wisdom is a physiological state of awareness.
Wisdom is a state of freedom of the mind, of the minds physiology.
Because the wise are in that sense formless, any form can be projected upon them…. and is.

A Few Updates

Thinking that I will start a podcast, I have not been blogging lately in hopes the podcasts would start soon. I will keep you posted.

I was up until a bit past 4:00 a.m. last night watching Trump and Modi speak at the stadium packed with 120,000 people in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The streets on the way to the stadium were lined with thousands of people. The whole event was very inspiring. I could not help feeling it marked a positive phase transition in global events.

Mahashivarathri at our temple was beautiful. It too somehow had the feeling of a positive global phase transition.

We are planning a number of upgrades here at Mt. Soma including the dining menu and regular hours for telephone answering. We are looking forward to warmer weather when families come to Mt. Soma, visit the temple, play outside, go for walks to Ganga Park, Hanuman, etc. It is very heartwarming. It makes me feel like a Vedic Walt Disney, offering Mt Soma for everyone to enjoy with their families!

Also, hoping this spring or summer to offer Advanced Techniques phase 2 via the Internet…

Jyotish was most challenging for several years now, but it appears to have turned the corner!

Hoping to be chatting with you via the podcast airwaves soon!
