Beautiful Questions

I was recently asked some beautiful questions to which I responded:

As we purify our physiologies things do come up. But it was once said that we do not need to rummage through the garbage. We just let it go. So no need to dwell too much on the past. Personal process is certainly important, but at some point letting things go is also important.

The quality of the Self is called the Rishi Value. It is good to hear that you are feeling that within you. It is not that we are actually Rishis. Rather the qualities of the depth of our own inner being can be experienced and is called “the Rishi value”. It is not just experiencing a Rishi as “other”, it is more importantly experiencing your own inner divinity. Congratulations for experiencing that! Rest with it. It is beautiful.

The solar event you are referring to is what is referred to as “the Age of Enlightenment”. It has been predicted that now is a transition to that healthy time. I understand that back in the 90’s, Maharishi was on stage with a Jyotishi and said that transition would begin to be felt when a man with orange hair was president of the United States, around 2020 to 2022. I was not there to hear him say this, but I was told about it. It has also been said that the transition happens with a period of roughness in world affairs. Interesting that even in chemistry, phase transitions can occur with a brief period of turbulence.

I am often asked what more one can do to evolve. I always respond by saying, “Steady hand on the rudder”. Yet so few people actually do that. Hang in there. Great times are ahead.

Your Jyotish for This Year

Happy Vedic New Year!

60% of your Jyotish (astrology) depends upon your moon chart. This means that you need to first have your Vedic astrology chart and then “spin” it to put the moon in the first house. Then the most important planets to interpret are the transiting Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu, and Ketu. The other planets transit too fast to be as much of a factor. The rest comes from interpreting your Rashi chart and merging all that together accordingly.

Then comes the Ugadi values that are very important influences. The graph below shows the Ugadi values. The numbers on the left are the signs for the moon. That is to say that if your moon is in Aries, for example, then your Ugadi values are Income 5, Expenses 5, Honor 3, Dishonor 1, and lucky number for the year is 9. The remedy for troubles would be to have the Rudrabhishekam performed, the more often the better.

The Ugadi values are the result of very important and complicated calculations. Pandit Prasad takes three months each year to make these calculations. Few jyotish astrologers take the time or even know how to make these very essential calculations.

Even deeper than the Ugadi values are the yearly Murtimantam calculations. For this, each planet for each individual has one of four values: Iron, Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Those values make ALL THE DIFFERENCE in a persons chart for the year. Gold and then silver giving the best results. Those calculations take the Ugadi values into account but go a step even deeper and more complicated. Unfortunately, how to calculate those values in a persons individual chart requires a tremendous amount of time and effort. Few astrologers even know about this. Because those calculations are so extensive and complicated, they have been neglected and lost to time.

However, by using the Ugadi chart below in context of what has been offered here, you can get a good idea of your jyotish for the year. Do keep in mind adrishta and apurva. I posted a podcast about this a short while ago that you can access at michaelmamas.com or clicking here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-michael-mamas-show/id1501096086.

Ardra Nakshatra

Right now and until the end of April, Rahu is in Adra Nakshatra. All the other nakshatras are part of groups of five. Ardra is so powerful that it is the only nakshatra that stands alone. Ardra is the nakshatra of poison. Rahu agitates. So it makes sense that the Corona virus is active now.

Ardra is also a nakshatra of headstrong attitudes and anger. So it might be a good time to lay low and forgive others of their inflamatory behavior.

The Current Jyotish

During the month of January, there is some especially powerful Jyotish. Earlier in the month, six planets clustered in Sagittarius. This type of conjunction is rare and difficult to analyze, but has the potential to change the world. While this conjunction is challenging, some Jyotishis have referred to it as the spark that signifies transformation. The Jyotish was especially difficult from January 8-14, as Saturn conjoined Mercury (and Pluto as per Western astrology) in the last 2 degrees of Sagittarius. Also, there was a lunar eclipse on January 10.

Planets are especially unstable when transiting the final degree of a sign, and Saturn will be transiting the final degree of Sagittarius and the first degree of Capricorn from now until about the end of January. It crosses into Capricorn on January 24, the same day as the new moon (and also the scheduled starting date for the Senate hearing!). As a result, things have been, and will continue to be, rather shaky.

An example of this is the situation with the U.S., Iran, and Iraq. On an individual level, during this time, it is wise to keep the peace, avoid conflicts, and be careful in all areas of life over for the rest of the month and the first half of February. Conflicts, etc. that get created during this time could extend into the future.

The good news is that after Saturn transits into Capricorn, it will be in a much happier position. For the next five years, Saturn will transit its own signs and should provide significantly more positive results. Also, Jupiter is currently transiting its own sign of Sagittarius, producing positive results. Jupiter remains in Sagittarius until March 30, then moves into Capricorn for 3 months, shifts back into Sagittarius on June 30, and stays in Sagittarius until November 20. The upcoming times, where Jupiter is in Sagittarius and Saturn is in Capricorn, are especially auspicious. So 2020 has the potential to be an incredibly positive and transformative year!

Interestingly enough, numerology predicts it to be a transformative year as well. Click here to see the World Numerology forecast from Hans Decoz.

God’s Will

We are but tiny ships navigating the winds and waves of Karma on the ocean of existence.
The Law of Karma is the law that determines for every action, there is an equal, but opposite, reaction. What goes around comes around. As you sow, so shall ye reap.
Most believe their Karma is acting upon them from outside.
Most fancy their thoughts and emotions to be their own.
Yet most of people’s Karma is between their ears and in their hearts, setting their sails in whatever direction it does.

Facts are just dots on a page.
How people’s hearts and minds connect those dots determines their image of others—of the world.
Anything can be and is justified with the intellect.
Anything can be and is justified with the emotions.
Karma weaves the webs people call life.
Karma weaves the webs people call truth.
Karma weaves the webs people call justice.
Though Karma is God’s Will, Karma is only half of God’s Will.

The other half is accessible to the extent that people’s hearts and minds are free from Karma.
Some call it the Divine Spark within.
Some call it the Transcendent.
Some call it the Kingdom of Heaven.

It is not enough to think you are free.
It is not enough to feel you are free.
It is usually just people’s Karma that makes them think and feel they are free.

To find that place of Divine and True Freedom is to transcend this world of Karma.
Divinity lies beyond thoughts and emotions.
Yet, Divinity is the source of thoughts and emotions that emerge unaltered or altered by the winds and waves of Karma.

Projections of inner negativity (conviction, anger, judgement, fear, etc.) are the waves and winds of karmic currents that direct and twist the fate of people’s thoughts and emotions.

Divinity and Karma are the two aspects of God’s Will which entwine to form the world… through people and by people, and therein act upon people.

Jyotish charts are the complex maps of Karma.
The world’s karmic map has, of late, shown severe winds and churning waves.
But the time is coming when people will live from a place within, beyond the touch of Karma.
The time is coming when people can walk through the world of Karma, but not lose Themselves to Karma.
The time is coming when people will be established in the silent Divine Depth of the ocean of existence.
True peace, harmony, love, and freedom lie beyond the choppy waves of karmic existence that most call life.
Looking to the surface to find the Divine, though common and understandable, is an emotional fantasy. Divinity, though permeating the surface, dwells deeper.
Thoughts and emotions are, at best, echoes of Truth which, held too tightly, hold Truth at bay.

It is up to the individual to transcend:
     to access the depth within.
to be “without the three Gunas”, called karmic life, and “take the mind to infinity” as Krishna declared in the Bhagavad Gita.
to no longer lose one’s self to the maze of karmic thoughts and emotions.
to no longer behave as dictated by Karma’s polarizing convictions of good and bad.
to stop reaching to emotional images of God as a substitute for the true Divinity of God.
The time is coming to know thy true Self.

It is called wisdom.
It is called maturity.
It is called Divine.
It is called Good Will toward all.

“Jupiter and Venus Opportunity” Revisited

Here at Mount Soma, both planets Venus (Shukra) and Jupiter (Guru) were visible last night (Sunday night, Nov. 24, 2019).  Please read the “Jupiter and Venus Opportunity” blog for the details.  A number of people looked and made their personal wishes and wishes for Mount Soma, as did I.

Together we are all doing something truly great.  Through the ancient Vedic technology of consciousness we employ the principle of mapping to heal the planet. As we sweep clean the house, we do not mind if some dust is stirred.  We remain undaunted.  We keep going forward, forward, always forward.  Steady hand on the rudder!

Tonight, Monday night, there will be one last opportunity to see Jupiter and Venus in this rare configuration again.  Weather permitting visibility, I will be again watching and making my wishes.

Jupiter and Venus Opportunity

November 23-25, Jupiter and Venus will be very close to one another. As the sun sets, they will become visible for a short period of time in the southwestern sky. Viewing them and praying for what you would like is considered a good opportunity to have your wishes fulfilled. On November 24, they will be the closest together (‘hugging’) but all three days offer the opportunity, and since clouds may obstruct your view, it would be good to watch for them all three days.

Jupiter is for knowledge and spirituality. Venus is for material gain and wealth. So, together, they offer the full range of Absolute and relative blessings.

Upcoming July Eclipses

Thanks to Dave Ehmke for putting together the following blog for us!

The Jyotish astrology during the month of July remains very difficult.  There will be a Total Solar Eclipse on July 2 in Gemini. The eclipse will be visible in South America, but not North America. This means that it will not affect the U.S. as much, but it will still affect the sign of Gemini significantly. So, those who have planets or their Ascendant in Gemini are more likely to be affected, and those with Moon in Gemini will be most affected.

There will be a Partial Lunar Eclipse on July 16 that will be visible in Asia and Europe. Since the eclipse will take place in Sagittarius, people with Moons, Ascendant and/or a number of planets in Sagittarius will be more affected.

Mercury will go retrograde on July 7, conjunct debilitated Mars in Cancer. So, expect difficulties with communication, travel, anger, heat, and violence in July. Fortunately, Cancer will be positively aspected by retrograde Jupiter in Scorpio, helping to mitigate the challenges. Venus will spend the month of July in Gemini with the Sun and Rahu. So, the eclipse at the beginning of the month will affect those with prominent Venus more significantly, and Venus and Sun will be challenged for most of the month.

All of these factors make for some very difficult Jyotish in July.  Stay safe!  And avoid arguments and starting new projects during this month.

Current Jyotish

This is just a reminder that we are in the midst of very difficult Jyotish for the next month or so. Some specifically intense dates include June 4-5, June 12-14, and June 17-18. So, if you are having a hard time or see others having a hard time, just put it in this greater Jyotish context and give the winds of Karma time to calm down. The Mars/Rahu transit ends on June 22nd, so hopefully we will get some relief after that. There is, however, a solar eclipse on July 2, so it may take some time for the intensity to simmer down. Of course, how all of this affects you depends upon your personal chart. There will be different peaks and valleys for all of us.

Jyotish Challenge

A challenging time is coming up from May 7 – June 22. Jyotishis are attributing what happened in Sri Lanka to the beginning of that influence. Take care to stay calm and avoid heated discussions.

Of course, when you’re feeling angry or negative, your perspective and attitude always feel perfectly justifiable, not just intellectually, but probably more importantly, emotionally. That’s the time when it’s most important to stop and think about the Jyotish. But be cautioned that that’s the time when people are least inclined to think about the Jyotish. So, a good rule of thumb during that time might be to just keep to yourself.
