it is now unfolding in the world before our very eyes

Do what your really believe in. Do it now. Lest at the end of your life, you will mourn, not over what was, but over what might have been.
I fear that by doing what I believe in, by following your teachings, I risk losing friendships and loved ones by
alienating them. I feel a longing for God but what I believe to be my path is quite different than most others I know
and love. These other people have strong beliefs too although not the same as mine. How do I resolve this conflict
without losing these relationships?
It astounds me to see how many are willing to abandon themselves and their inner knowing to please others. Do the best you can to be kind and diplomatic, but do not betray yourself! To thine own self be true…

We have never met, so I hope I have the space to offer a little optimism… Many older students have been through this… I have had periods where I feared my relationships with my aunt, father, mother, brother and many of my dearest old friends would never be the same…would always be distant and strained.
However, after some time, and much to my surprise and joy, just the opposite happened. (Smiling and laughing inside) Many of those relationships actually became much better, healthier…profoundly closer.
Our relationships seemed to no longer be strained by ideology or beliefs. I found ways, unique to the nature of our relationships, to commune with them and love them more…and received more in return, so to speak.
The ties that bind and still carry the risk of separation are still there…but the deeper bond seems to be more full and resilient.
There are NO guarantees…, but that this knowledge, these teachings, can work in amazing ways.
