“It’s better to walk alone than with a crowd going in the wrong direction.” – Diane Grant
It is fascinating to witness how many consider truth to be that which is most popular. Not a wise thing to do, particularly in Kali Yuga. Of course, these days it is most popular to want to be the person ‘hearing a different drum a-drummin’. But that only works when your connection to the depth of your being is stronger than your desire to be ‘special’.
Even if one is able to march to their own beat, why would they ever want to do so if that led them astray? If the connection to the depth of their being is stronger, then it should follow that the most life supporting corse of action would be to continue reinforcing the process that allowed them to attain that physiological state in the first place. Better to join the jam session and make sweet music en masse. People need to realize that it is possible to be special within a group, and not to break up the band in the name of their small self. We are all unique delicate flowers, and shouldn’t feel threatened buy other great players. Each one of us brings something different to the table. I love The Beatles, and nothing any of those guys did solo ever came close to what they achieved as a group. We’ve got the greatest conductor on the planet here! All together now!
Jai Guru Dev!
What is Kali Yuga ?
Geoff,
Of course some who march to their own beat do not realize it is leading them astray.
And yes, the definition of special does not need to mean blazing a trail that is not consistent with others.
Every single human being is one with the Divine. That is very special. Yet to awaken to that level of their being is very rare.
Andy,
This is the age of Kali Yuga… the age of ignorance. Everything cycles. The sun rises and sets. It is said that now is the time that an enlightened age will emerge, right in the midst of Kali Yuga.
Half the time I think I know I am following the right path, the other half I know I am not and the last 100% of the time I am in the yearnging to get back to the true path. Thankfully Maharshi has given us path markers to at least know we are crossing the path at times. Thank you!.
Thank you Maharshi.
