This is an interesting Einstein quote. Does it indicate a certain lack of integration with life? Or is it a profound statement of his understanding of the nature of relative existence?
“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects”. – Albert Einstein
Though we may hurt and disappoint one and other from time to time, life is still all about people… personified beings.
Life is rooted in perfection. Every individual is rooted in perfect. Yet like a tree rooted in the stability of Mother Earth, the branches dance with the winds of karma.
Integration means harmony of the depth with the surface. Love people. Do not be confused by the winds of karma. And do not be oblivious to them.
Human evolution means the integration of life.
Since this statement falls in the arena of opinions about life and happiness..it seems that wherever he was coming from,it should hold validity. It is all from a matter of perspective and since there are an infinite amount of perspectives…
Thank You Maharshi for the endless amount of challenges!
All realities have a corresponding perspective, but all perspectives do not necessarily have a corresponding reality. It is possible to be just plain wrong.
I remember the class when you shared that..thank you for the correction. It went in deeper this time.
This was most excellent for me to read right now. Thank you Maharishi.
Going through this divorce for the past four plus months has beaten me up on every level. Next week I have to actually sit down face to face with soon to be ex and both lawyers, and I feel totally drained of all life and compassion. I will strive to remember these words, because my instinct is to strike back after what has been going on. I am not proud of these feelings. I cannot remember ever feeling hatred for _anyone_. I know in my heart this is getting me where I long to be. My goal is not looking possible, but at the very least I am going to repeatrepeatrepeat he is rooted in perfection. And so am I.
So beautifully said. Thank you Maharshi.
Do not tie my happiness to people, but do love people, even through the winds of karma. That’s what I’m getting from this right now. And it is a well-timed reminder. Thank you.
At the depth of their being, everyone is divine. Never lose sight of that. However, some behave most inappropriately on the surface and beings spiritual does not mean being oblivious to that.
Wisdom means aligning with the reality that best serves the moment.
When integrated, you do that naturally. Until then, reflect and ponder. Take time to come into balance.
