Genuine spiritual growth has been said to be as elusive as traversing the razors edge or passing through the eye of the needle. To understand this, you do not need to look any further than the technique of meditation. Thoughts are a part of proper meditation. Proper meditation is a very natural process. So sometimes when you meditate, you may feel like nothing is happening. As a result, you may be tempted to stop meditating or look for something that is more emotionally engaging or exciting. In so doing, you just let true spiritual growth slip through your fingers. I am often asked what more a person can do for their evolution. I answer by saying, “Be consistent. Do not be distracted. Keep a steady hand on the rudder!”
It takes time to, for example, lose weight or to get good at playing a musical instrument. However, true spiritual growth is the ultimate challenge. Give it the commitment and time it deserves, and you will attain the results you desire.
Learn about the Surya Ram Meditation.
Thank you. Such simple words and concepts, yet they are so powerful.
This reminds me of two different quotes from the meditation Q&A we have online:
1) No matter what our experience of any given meditation is, it is important to have the attitude that something good is happening.
2) We don’t meditate for the experience of meditation. We meditate because of the results we get in our daily lives.
I feel that I have been given no greater gift in this lifetime. The gift of proper meditation is comparable to nothing else..except maybe like a billion people telling you which rainbow they believe possesses the pot of gold and you actually know where it is;)
Thank you kindly for that gift Brahmarshi
Love it!
Thumbs up.
your comments help the school. very short is 100% fine. Please keep them coming…
The Surya meditation = the true meaning of let go and let God. The entrance to where everyone longs to go.
I tell people about this meditation constantly. I love sharing simple yet profound information with others.
If I had a nickel for each time it has felt like nothing is happening…
but the results are undeniable. There is simply no denying the power if this meditation.
I frequently have improper meditations, but feeling less bothered by it. I’m still on the hunt for doing it better though!
After many years I finally gave up on judging my meditations. Now I just do them.
The proof is in the pudding… :o) Life gets sweeter and sweeter with time.
Claudi,
That is great. It really is remarkable how hard people try to make meditation and how easy it really is when done properly. I can not emphasize enough that people should not judge their meditations. Just do it as instructed. Thoughts are part of it. Do not meditate for the experience of meditation. Meditate for the benefits it gives. Isn’t it remarkable that the elusive nature of spiritual growth has everything to do with how hard people make it. Some think enlightenment is remarkable. What is even more remarkable is ignorance. How insistent people are at ignoring their own true divine nature, even in the pursuit of it. Life is challenging enough. Why create more challenges with your judgements? All too often judgement is mistaken for discernment. Cultivate discernment. Abandon judgement.
Good job with all this Claudi. Keep up the great progress!
It is a good idea to view the meditation instruction video on this website if you have any doubts about how to do the meditation. Also, we will be coming out with a new instructional video soon. Same technique and information, just a remake with better quality camera, audio, etc.
It is a roller coaster ride, but a day spent in meditation is a day well spent.
Sarah, so agree. And Gregg, it can feel that way, but Harry was wonderful to remind me recently, just do it!
I once heard a long time meditator say that he had a way to judge meditation. He asked, “Did you do a meditation?” If the answer was “Yes”, then it was a good meditation.
The past couple of weeks I have watched parts a and b of your Surya mediation technique videos multiple times. I find them to be so very well done. This is a perfect example of the gentleness and clarity with which you convey the Knowledge .
Each time I watch them I realize how valuable it is to review the basics! Moreover, I come away with more and more reason to keep meditating!. I am grateful beyond words.
Claudi: I remember when you would say how you struggled with meditating and I believe you expressed how frustrated you were with it all. When I read your comment above, I couldn’t help but smile…..You are proof, for me anyway, of the value of meditating not for meditating sake (as Michaelji might say) but for the results. (I realize my phrasing may be clumsy here).
Since your comment, I am inspired to design my day for the second meditation …something I had had difficulty doing in the past because things would come up that would interrupt, postpone or whatever leaving feeling frustrated etc.
Now I have announced to my household the time of my afternoon meditation and I emphasized no interruptions. How simple is that!! It is working.
Thank you, Claudi.
Claudi:
Most important thing I forgot to mention….before making the “announcement”, I told everyone that I really wanted to be able to meditate every afternoon/evening without fail and without interruption. Then I said: “what do you think would be a good time?” That way, I felt, the family was considered, engaged and invited in making it happen. I let them know they were participating in DESIGNING the day to accommodate this.
I am sharing this in case anyone out there, away from Mount Soma, has difficulty finding a place for the second round. This is working beautifully for me. And so I am paassing it on.
Happy Day!
