I saw this yesterday (on my 30th birthday!) and was hoping Tanja got a picture of it! Fascinating how the air above the rainbow is darker than the air below it. I wonder why? Gorgeous.

BTW: I am remembering… But I am humbled and often troubled by just how much we can forget…even from knowledge and a process that has such a profound impact on our lives…even our evolution. Amazing and disconcerting how distracting life can be…

I don’t even know if or how it works this way, but here is a guess:
The air above the rainbow is darker, as it contains all colors. The air below the rainbow is “lighter” because the visible color has been refracted out into the rainbow?
