Self confidence is simply a matter of knowing where to look for it.
If you feel you lack self confidence, it is only because you are looking for it in the wrong places.
Self confidence does not dwell on the surface of life.
That sort of superficial self confidence is fleeting.
Genuine self confidence dwells at the depth of your being.
Rest into the depth.
If you ever feel uneasy with yourself, just take a moment to rest into the self.
Know that the self is divine.
Know that if you just show your self, people will see it. love it, and honor it.
You show it by resting into it.
Self confidence is just that simple.
I love this blog. I get insecure a lot, but inside I feel something is rooting for me.
I love this! It’s something I think people, particularly young girls need to hear.
Great Blog! Thank You
This is a wonderful perspective on a topic that has given so many people so much pain. This blog makes the solution simple but not simplistic. It completely re contextualizes the understanding of what self confidence really is. Many thanks.
It’s so easy to get swept away looking to the surface for confirmation of one’s worth. Thank you for this eloquent reminder.
love this! Thank you.
Simply beautiful. Thank you.
I love how Michael Mamas cuts through the clutter with clarity and simplicity. This blog rings so true.
Beautifully and honorably done. Thank you!
There is so much information out there about how to address confidence superficially. This really cuts through that clutter and hits the mark, and in such an eloquent way!
Resting in our divinity is one thing, having a true sense of will is another…
Why does our solar plexus tighten up when we are defensive? Why do we seperate from difficulty versus staying with it, or rest there for a moment and bring attention to the struggle?
Such a beautiful and profound blog. Thank you. It is so easy to get pulled into the superficial and feel like it’s the reality of who we are. The stresses and pulls of this life and this world don’t go away, but resting into the depth makes it possible to traverse through them.
Beautiful
Hi John,
There is more to resting into Divinity than may meet the eye at first glance. It is ultimately a permanent state of physiology, even in deepest activity. Tightening of solar plexus or separating from difficulty are not things to be judged as falling short of ‘ideal’ life. Having ‘a true sense of will’ and ‘resting into Divinity’ are ultimately one and the same. The deeper we look, the more elusive the understanding of life becomes.
I very much appreciate your comments. The point toward important arenas of understanding.
I remember the first time you said that we are that divine place inside of ourselves that we can sense. You said that every person at the depth of our being is divine. It was a revelation. I have since found that when I show myself, people do respond to it in a wonderful way. It’s one of the many reasons I love being around my Surya classmates. There, I am myself and they are being themselves. We all appreciate each other’s authentic selves so much. The relationships are so nourishing.
