“If your grip is weak, YOU’LL be weak.”
This is another quote from the fitness world. I would like you to reflect upon how it maps on to your speedy spiritual evolution… and also how it could be twisted to compromise your spiritual evolution.
After you formulate you thoughts, you can click on “comments” to see mine.
A strong connection to Absolute (Your True Self) is a truly strong ‘grip’.
A strong clinging to a belief, perspective, conviction, identity or belief system is a weak grip. Belief systems can be helpful tools, but they are not your true strength. Your inner being (your Soul or Spirit) is your true strength. To be strong in spirit, you must rest into your Being, your Soul, your Essence.
I really needed this blog. Yesterday I could feel I was loosing my grip. An old fear that I had forgotten about started taking over. Then another part of me tried to come through creating an internal war. I thought, only if I could spend more time at Mt Soma so I could truly rest— even during the war. However, I guess karma and timing are all off.
WHats the diffrence between soul and spirit
Even with Tanja’s master photo shopping abilities, still not as buff as me! ;D
…thank you, dear Brahmarshi.
Tracy can you get to the last two weeks of the deep dive?
When I first read this blog I thought of the trapeze artist and the safety net.
Do you hold the Absolute or does the Absolute hold you?
It is not possible to hold the Absolute. You are it. You resting into what you really are by not holding on to relativity… relative notions.
Eri, ‘soul’ and ‘spirit’ are terms both used in various ways. The way I am using them here, they are one and the same.
I could only think about reading somewhere that the men who do rings really wreck their bodies. It is the most physically demanding of the gymnastics. So for me, this is more about the damage done by holding on tightly. Knowing when to let go, release your grip takes great strength and incredible finesse.
I love your short quotes Brahmarshi! That way I can carry them in my head and pull them up when necessary. “If your grip is weak, YOU’LL be weak.” Awesome. Grip the Transcendent in a strong grip and everything else in life will eventually work itself out. Grip with a weak grip and nothing but trouble.
Thanks Mark,
Do know however that the quote comes from a fitness trainer, not me. I just borrowed it and related to having a clear connection with the Transcendent. And again, as you well know, you can not actually grip the transcendent. That ‘grip’ is a state of consciousness, a wakefulness to your true essence, the transcendent.
How can you distinguish for yourself what is a strong ‘grip’ versus a strong clinging to a belief or a perspective ? How do you know you’ve rested into your essence/soul or just an overlay?
