Angry parents tend to raise angry children, so I guess the buck stops here – with my own willingness to explore, feel and communicate my own hurt responsibly. My favorite:
“Wouldn’t it be wonderful if people could share opposing viewpoints in a civil manner? Maybe we can learn to express our own inner turmoil, our personal issues, in a constructive and respectful manner.”
And maybe even enjoy the exploration of opposing viewpoints . . .
