Every drop of rain eventually finds its way back to the ocean. Some drops rush down the mountain stream and quickly return. Some drops get stuck in a spinning whirlpool for a long time. Some go fast for a while and then get stuck in a whirlpool… back and forth from one situation to the other. If you watch water tumble down a mountain stream, you will see it all.
Everyone eventually gets enlightened. Everything gravitates back to Oneness. Progress is measured not in years but in lifetimes. The longer the delay, the more the suffering.
The closer you get the sweeter your life.
“The longer the delay, the more the suffering.” What a succinct way to give us some motivation! I love it…
Beautiful… I love this analogy every time and every way that I hear it. Encouraging. Evolution is not a straight line, but there is an overall direction that will win out.
It’s a vivid analogy. Thanks for the reminder not to get caught in the eddies of life.
This is a great reminder. I really like the visual image of the stream.
I find that since finding your teachings my life has been getting sweeter.
Many thanks.
Very Interesting!
I wonder if Tom Brady is sufferings……maybe he is because his wife is making twice as much as he, at 40 million? Kinda joking, but what level is suffering really on? surely the sweetness of life seems to be growing thanks to your meditation instruction and teaching’s, but it is not linear….
I love “the closer you get the sweeter your life” . I was wondering: might a perdon’s life be sweet because of their karma, even though they are far from enlightenment? Thank you for the blog!
Life cycles. There can certainly be periods, even lifetimes, of great joy prior to enlightenment. However, you never know when there is an eddie current down the way. Also, we must not just think of ourselves but of the world. There is so much suffering, and it is all unnecessary.
Thank you
Thank you.
Beautiful analogy.
“…back and forth from one situation to the other.” I recognize that!
Thanks for sweetening our lives! I also very much enjoy the photos that you post with the blogs, thanks to the family photographers.
I think I’ll be the drop that rides on the back of a fallen leaf, past the maddening eddies. Gently, gently…
You answered the question that was on my mind. I like the reminder: “you never know when there is an Eddie current down the way.” Don’t get distracted!
Beautiful.
