There was a solar eclipse on November 24. There will be a lunar eclipse during the full moon in December. It is said that it is best to not look at a lunar eclipse or eat during that night.
What do you believe, and why?
Most are so identified with whatever they have been conditioned and indoctrinated to believe that it is difficult for them to learn anything truly new. Instead they look at life only to extract whatever will reinforce their current belief system and reject the rest.
An open mind is not enough. It must also be a reasonable/logical mind. If you can integrate an open mind with the ability to think reasonably, logically, then there is no limit to what you can attain.
I say again, the world is not as you have been lead to believe. There is good reason why the Sun and Moon appear the same size in the sky.
For there to be life, fire and water, Agni and Soma, must be in balance.
Wikipedia says this eclipse will start about 4:31 am and finish about 10:31 am. Is it recommended not eating the night of the 9th or 10th, or both? Can you explain more about the relationship to the balance of Agni and Soma, it’s fascinating and I would suspect it affects the fine balance of those of those who live in extreme northern climates?
It is about the night during which it is going on.
Agni Soma balance would be a good lecture. Perhaps I will do a blog on it, but right now it feels to me it would lend itself better to a lecture
I do not think I have a total blind sheep mentality; however being human, I think it is possible that I could be sucked into blindsheepedness. That being said, I also do not have access at this time (or may I ever) to the depth of knowledge that Brahmarshi experiences. So my gut, but more importantly, my heart, is making note of this and not going to eat the night of the eclipse.
I think of Brahmarshi also in the corners of my mind and His “Safety First”. I do not think not eating for one night would put me in harm’s way nor would it be a dangerous task for me and my personal safety. I also am overweight, so being more mindful of what I stuff into my face cannot be a bad thing for me. Added, my life is in turmoil now and I do not want to knowingly do anything to add to an upset balance. That was my rationalization process.
I too am confused Marty about what night this will be, since it happens in the morning but I would go with the night before, so no food would be in my stomach during that window. My intention is to aid my evolution, most esp. now being in the meatgrinder day to day and definitely feeling it day to day more than ever.
Jai Guru Dev.

Fiery Triple Play
December 16, 2011 to January 13, 2012
There is something very interesting, and potentially very beneficial about to happen up there in the heavens. Starting on December 16th, the Sun, Jupiter, and Mars will be forming a rare and very positive trinal relationship. The Sun will be transiting in Jupiter’s sign. Mars will be in the Sun’s sign, and Jupiter will be in Mars’ sign. This will set up a sort of a circuit of reinforcement between the signs of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius that has the potential to create a positive impact on those three houses in your horoscope.
What is interesting about this arrangement is that houses that are trinal to each other in a horoscope share a particular domain or “aim of life.” There are four domains of life, Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. Dharma is your sense of purpose and ultimately your connection to the truth. Artha is your connection to material things like career and money. Kama covers all kinds of desires, including sexual desire. Moksha is your motivation to gain spiritual freedom.
Depending on where the fire signs are located in your chart, the planetary triple-play- transit will strengthen one of these aims of life in your chart during the period from December 16, 2011 to January 13, 2012. It will also strengthen and promote events related to the houses that these planets are occupying.
I wrote more on the eclipse in the Daily Words section of http://www.srisomesvara.org
