No, we do not need to get cosmic to consider this. Yet, at the same time, everything is transgradient, i.e., permeates all levels of life and nature. Dogmatic perspectives undermine wisdom. Humility is the flip side of wisdom. There is a lot to look at here: Judgement, simplistic reasoning, karma, oblivion, etc. We can explore many facets of the diamond of life by considering the simple question: “Why is California Burning?”. Ancient secrets reveal deeper knowledge. You may want to ask yourself what you would say before listening. To listen, please click here.

The Truth about Religion and Flatlining
More from Michael Mamas
"Take the time to reflect on what is said here. If you find yourself associating this material with things you have heard elsewhere, please take the time to diligently explore how they are different. This knowledge is elusive. I share it here because I have seen how much this knowledge helps people – the potential is enormous."

Some say the cause of the fires is global warming, period. I was asked to do a blog on why there are hurricanes and tornados in the south and midwest. That and much more is (with this podcast) what I just did. Unless we reflect wisely, ancient secrets remain secrets even after they are shared. To live better, we must look deeper.
You work so hard to help us with our paradigm identities. Yet it is so easy to revert back, forgetting what you taught. I came across this quote by Dr. Max Planck that seems to apply nicely: “A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.”
It is fascinating to me, the more I practice proper meditation as taught to me by my friend and teacher Michael Mamas, the more I feel is unlocked within me as I listen to his podcasts.
And what is most beautiful to me, is it feels so effortless.
“The kingdom of heaven dwells within.”
I am in CA right now and the air is very tough to breathe. One reason California is burning is that we did not follow in the footsteps of the native Americans who knew how to do controlled burns. They did regular burns and the fuel load did not build up.
Ooops.
Hi Mark,
I trust you are enjoying your visit with family in CA! As you know, the farmers do controlled burns every year here along the roads through their land as we can see as we drive to Mount Soma from town. Of course as you know, and as pointed out in the podcast, the true cause of events lies more deeply than people generally imagine. As said in the Bhagavad Gita, ‘the course of action is unfathomable’. The results of our actions are not easily determined. The true cause and effect of the fires burning on our lands and in our hearts is also unfathomable. To live in harmony with nature, with life, is to live in harmony with the depth of our being, not just the surface beliefs we may have. As more commonly said, it is to live in harmony with God. Of course we do our best on the surface, but until we find the true source of harmony within, harmony on the surface of life will elude us. Spontaneous right action is a state of being, not a conformity to a belief system.
Answering the question before listening, my notions were consumerism and irresponsible management. Any answer clearly points to what is not working. After listening, my answer is intensity…all this has to be thrown in our faces to even crack the surface to allow the depth to well up.
God is closer than most people think. It is the unyielding commitment to “perspective” that holds God/Truth at bay.
Thanks for the course correction. I realized I only replaced one perspective with another. Still a life in progress…
