“Awakening to Your True Nature” Audio on SoundCloud

Awakening to Your True Nature Audio by Michael Mamas

An introductory lecture I gave in Walnut Creek a while back has been posted on SoundCloud. I’m told that people really enjoy this lecture, and the sound quality is great.

SoundCloud is an online platform for sharing audio. If you create a free account, you can follow me to receive notifications of future audio uploads. You can also "Like" audio posts and share them on social media.

Also, there are free SoundCloud apps on the Apple Store and Google Play that allow you to listen to SoundCloud on your phone.

The lecture is in two parts. Enjoy!

News Flash!

Michael Mamas Article Published on Elephant JournalAn article I wrote about the presidential debates was just published on the front page of Elephant Journal! I’m honored to be a contributing author for a publication so intent on encouraging a conscious life. The article, Presidential Debates: What We Should be Asking Ourselves, asks readers some important questions about evaluating the 2016 presidential hopefuls. How do you separate substance from style? Merit from charisma? Sincerity from pandering?

I encourage you to read it, like it, comment on it, and share it. Let’s see if we can get the word out to as many voters as possible! Remember: a wise, discerning and effective leader will only be elected by wise, discerning and reflective voters.

Please help us get the most traction out of this article by:

  • Going to the article, Presidential Debates: What We Should be Asking Ourselves.

New YouTube Video Series

We just filmed a YouTube video series that you can access with the link below.  It is created with the modern, 30-second, sound bite mentality in mind.

Of course, there are risks involved with it (as with everything).  My primary concern is that the videos are so short that they might be misunderstood and projected upon. The ‘I Get It Syndrome’ may compromise the videos.

However, I hope that they serve as inspiration for people to look deeper and listen more carefully… perhaps visit MountSoma.org, learn the Surya Ram Meditation, read some of the books we offer, visit Mount Soma, and perhaps attend classes and/or retreats.

Comments, giving a “Thumbs Up”, and Facebook/Twitter/Google+ sharing after viewing the videos would be appreciated, as that helps with our online presence. If you haven’t already, you may wish to subscribe to my YouTube Channel so that you’re notified of new videos (requires a Gmail account).

Be sure to view the video descriptions, as they have links to articles, blogs and other videos on that topic.

A new set of videos is in the works so start sharing!

Jyotish and the Deep Dive Course

autumnI go largely by feel, by ‘intuition’ if you prefer that word. (Of course, it must always be tempered with the intellect.) I feel clearly that it is the right time to have a powerful deep meditation retreat this winter.

Interestingly enough, when I last spoke with jyotishi, Sanjay Rath, he enthusiastically advised that we have a retreat at that time… “The timing is perfect!” He was delighted to learn that it was already planned! He said it is a very important retreat for people to attend, will be incredibly powerful for those individuals and for the entire world. Major transformation could result. Things should really, really take off!

It always fascinates me… how jyotish can be so precise and how Sanjay so often, from his calculations, concludes exactly what I feel from within my being. It seems that everyone here at Mount Soma senses a powerful wave coming.

If you can attend the Deep Dive Course, do yourself and the world a favor by making it happen… I hope to see many of you then.

On My Mind

coverBook1Today we launch a made for iPad series, “On My Mind.” This series is a compilation of Michael Mamas blogs from past years, beginning with his earlier blogs. Those of us that have worked on compiling this series are pleased to present this first book on Guru Purnima to honor our teacher.

We will release another book every few weeks until there are no more blogs in the archives. Then, future books will come when there are enough blogs to compile another book.

I hope you enjoy revisiting these blogs in this way. Any ratings and comments in the iTunes store would be appreciated and a wonderful way to spread the word to those who may not know about Dr. Michael Mamas and Mount Soma.

Thank you all for your continued support.

The Bliss Course

bliss-course

People here at Mount Soma’s Community Center and Student Union have been telling me they are receiving a lot of questions about the Bliss Course, previously known as the Awakening Course. We have renamed it the ‘Bliss Course’, as people have been referring to it that way. Some Ashram participants wrote the following and asked me to post it.

After receiving inquiries about the Bliss Course, as students of Dr. Mamas, we wanted to give you a sense of what a long-term course at Mount Soma is like.

Michael Mamas shapes all programs and courses for the evolution of individuals, the group, and the greater good. He is always responsive to the group consciousness and the flow of the moment, which gives variation and flex to everything. Courses are usually designed in harmony with the Ashram Program.

Here is a typical ashram day:

We begin with meditation at 7 AM. Afterwards, we have breakfast and then begin our morning projects. When he feels it is indicated, Dr. Mamas meets with everyone. Midday, we have a delicious homemade vegetarian meal. Over lunchtime, we often take a walk and enjoy the mountain air. We have a little more activity in the afternoon and then meditate again. In the evening, there are activities in the temple we can attend. After dinner, we often enjoy relaxing together and personal time before lights out at 10 PM.

This daily schedule of meditation, activity, and sleep supports our well being and promotes the integration of the Transcendent into our physiology and daily life.

The motivation for the Bliss Course is to support people’s evolution. All activities and projects are designed to help you catch the flow of the Cosmic Stream. When you’re at Mount Soma, there is a palpable feeling that is beyond description. It resonates with the deepest part of us and over time, the bliss wells up more and more…

Over the next week, we are hoping to put out some more information about the Bliss Course and possibly some videos of Michael Mamas discussing it.

Stay tuned!
