An article I wrote about the presidential debates was just published on the front page of Elephant Journal! I’m honored to be a contributing author for a publication so intent on encouraging a conscious life. The article, Presidential Debates: What We Should be Asking Ourselves, asks readers some important questions about evaluating the 2016 presidential hopefuls. How do you separate substance from style? Merit from charisma? Sincerity from pandering?
I encourage you to read it, like it, comment on it, and share it. Let’s see if we can get the word out to as many voters as possible! Remember: a wise, discerning and effective leader will only be elected by wise, discerning and reflective voters.
Please help us get the most traction out of this article by:

It seems that racism has subsided (or at least has become increasingly politically incorrect) in America, or perhaps people’s prejudices have not so much subsided as been transformed. Am I mistaken, or have the divides between right versus left, conservative versus liberal, the wealthy versus the poor, etc. taken on new highs in intensity? It almost seems that there is a certain degree of pride and prejudice within people that simply must be directed at something. Could that really be?
Let’s take a step back and look at the nature of our species. Certainly we are social/cultural creatures. We tend to flock together to create a society. As you traverse the globe, it becomes apparent that there is a great degree of difference between cultures. Individuals in a culture (or subculture) become adapted to, comfortable with, and cultured around the specific aspects of their culture. This, to a great degree, includes mentality, morality, ethics, and worldview, even including the inclination to rebel against the convention of that culture! There is a natural tendency to gravitate toward individuals that share your cultural and subcultural views. That seems to be quite commonsensical and natural. Laws are created and enforced in concert with those views, those convictions. Often other viewpoints are considered unhealthy, or even illegal. Of course, as times change people change, and viewpoints then, gradually change over time. In the USA at least, those transitions seem to occur through 10 to 15 year cycles. Just look at the 1920s compared to the ’30s, ’40s, ’50s and ’60s, etc. Yet through it all, we tend to adhere to our societal group of like-minded friends with whom we are most comfortable and identified. You may wonder if this is a good or bad thing. Should you strive to break free of your heritage? Or should you strive to conform to it? When does your affinity for your heritage cross that line from cultural integrity and mutual support and comfort to becoming prejudicial or worse? Is there a healthy pride and natural preference or should we strive to overcome it and create a homogenous world?
It seems clear that the right and wrong of it is all a matter of degree. Birds of a feather do naturally flock together. That is sometimes called cultural integrity. But as I have said in the past, racism is cultural integrity gone insane. It appears that such insanity has a physiological or organic component to it. It is not proactively overcome as easily as you may think. It is like subterranean ether in the blood that permeates heart and mind. It is like an overheating of the otherwise healthy blood chemistry of natural affinity. Once overheated, it must show its head in one prejudicial form or another. Attempting to suppress it one way only causes it to emerge in another. As racism is suppressed, political polarization and hatred go on the rise.
I remember the man I sat next to on a flight to San Francisco. He is a lifelong resident of Marin County. From his proud perspective, he was clearly open-minded, liberal, and beyond any trace of racism. Yet he was viscously intolerant of any opposing viewpoint. From his perspective, he had things all figured out and he was righteously indignant of any other viewpoint. Of course, in his opinion, he loved all humanity, all cultures, all races. But did he? Did he really? How little things have changed. As the saying goes, “plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose” — “the more things change, the more they stay the same.” We ride upon these tides, currents, and waves of world karma within the ocean of life… far more so than most are able to see or willing to admit. Up creates down. Right creates left.
Is there a real solution to this? Yes, of course there is: human evolution… the balancing of fire (Agni) and water (Soma). The world is on fire. The people are righteously indignant. The shade trees have been cleared by the millions. Heat is on the rise. Global warming in this expanded sense is a certainty. Warming of the oceans would merely be one symptom of the greater dynamic. Attempts to rearrange the surface to hide what is going on in the depths will fail. Sweeping the dirt under the rug does not clean the house.
Where do you draw the line between cultural integrity and cultural arrogance? The answer to that is found in the depth of your being, not on the surface. But to do so, first the fire must be cooled. Proper meditation with the cultivation of discernment is the path.

I heard the following quote: “Civilizations are a thin crust on a volcano.”
Imagine a civilization that is in harmony with all of nature, in harmony with Mother Nature. Such a civilization would receive support from all of nature. It would not be a thin crust on a volcano. It would be an exquisite blossom deeply rooted in, and in harmony with, Mother Earth. This is our viable future, if only we live in the present wisely. The knowledge is there. Humanity need only pay attention.

A number of business people have consulted with me over the years. After speaking with a few of them, I decided to jot down some notes of the main points that come up often. I sent them to two of those people who deal with multi-million dollar deals on a regular basis. Their feedback was extremely positive: ‘I couldn’t agree more.’ – ‘Great stuff!’ – ‘I have employed those principles in every major business negotiation I have ever been involved in.’
I have not seen these principles offered in MBA programs, which tend to stick with the cold hard numbers aspect (see The Theory of Induced Blindness blog). The numbers are the easy part. They are not the art of business. I am sharing these notes with you in the same raw form I shared them with those two people.
Working Notes for MBA 101: The Essential Knowledge Not Taught in MBA Programs
- steady hand on the rudder
- its all about people
- read my last blog… theory of induced blindness
- trust issues… honey, not vinegar
- win/win is the only way to go
- same side of fence and we all win… be a player not a pain
- there is a rhythm to everything… don’t push it
- don’t shoot yourself in the foot
- business is an art… the art of people… the math must be known, but the key is the art
- get on board (or be left behind)
- fact: this all applies from a Kool-Aide stand to multi-billionaire deals

Over the next few days there will be a jyotish influence of conflict.
If you feel negative or angry, you may do well to take a step back and give it time.
It’s not a good time for negotiations.

I am not a jyotishi, but I have been told the following:
Saturn is aspecting Rohini which is the Moon’s exaltation nakshatra, so emotional times lie ahead through the summer.
Also, the effects of the lunar eclipse which occurred in April will be felt through the summer…. difficult times.
The eclipse happened with Moon in Virgo (an Earth sign) so global calamities, earthquakes, etc. are likely.
For the six months prior to the solar eclipse, things were predicted to be difficult and the rise of ISIS, etc. did occur then.
So we are going through rocky times globally, but things will be better.
~
On a positive note, jyotishi Sanjay Rath said that May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2016, should be an excellent time for Mount Soma. In fact, many good things are in the works and will likely come to fruition during that time.

Did you know that the Hubble telescope has revealed a galaxy that is older than current science says is the age of the universe? Yet, that information is commonly ignored because it does not fit the currently accepted physics paradigm.
Did you know that statistical studies show that the evolution of species occurred far more rapidly than can be accounted for by Darwin’s theory? Yet, that information is commonly ignored because it does not fit the currently accepted biology paradigm.
Did you know that statistically, studies of group meditation have proven it reduces crime rate and incidence of war? Yet, that information is commonly ignored because it does not fit the currently accepted scientific paradigm.
The Kuhn Cycle progresses from a paradigm that rejects the new information as absurd to a new paradigm that accepts the new information. You can read more about it HERE.
Havans, pujas, dynamics of group meditation, and other Vedic technologies have been, and are being, scientifically shown to be effective. Gradually, the scientific community is accepting this. Soon, through a paradigm shift, science will fully embrace the information. Darwin’s theory and other theories will be more fully understood in that new light.
The new paradigm will offer technologies that promise to heal problems in our world that currently seem insurmountable. Those future technologies are, in fact, ancient Vedic technologies that are being revived at Mount Soma today. Unfortunately, in the world today, those technologies have been largely rejected or improperly employed. That is the result of the wide acceptance of the current scientific paradigm. When the current paradigm and Vedic technology are understood to harmoniously merge, a great new era will be born. The evidence is there now. However, the Kuhn Cycle does take a little time.
Rationality and spirituality will be shown to be two sides of the same coin. Each will compliment, clarify, and stabilize the other. Currently, superstition and distortion have crept in to Vedic knowledge, just as Adi Shankara predicted. At Mount Soma, the knowledge is being purified. The potential is enormous.

The US fathers of our country built a nation based upon rights they say are given from God. Secularists object, insisting laws are man made. The debate rages on. The conflict is the result of both sides having a fundamental lack of understanding of the nature of life and existence.
Everything is born of the unified field… the source of pure intelligence, harmony, coherence, knowledge, etc. That is simply physics. That one thing is the source of everything. In your essential nature, you are the unified field. Another name for the one thing that is the source of everything is ‘God”. You are one with God, one with everything.
As I said in a recent blog, thoughts are based in reason is based in common sense is based in wisdom is based in finest feeling, is based in the unified field. As your awareness becomes increasingly clear, your thoughts are ever increasingly in harmony with the unified field, i.e. with God. That is what it means to live in harmony with your own true nature. That is also what it means to ‘hear the voice of God’. God speaks to everyone in the form of their own inner voice. The question is, how well can you listen? How free are you from distortions, limitations, programming, conditioning, stress, samskaras, etc. … all words for the same one thing. So inalienable rights are accessed through us, through individuals. As we increasingly free ourselves of samskaras, the ‘message’ is understood more and more clearly. So the secularists and the fathers of our country actually agree. However, they lack this fundamental understanding.
Yet we must not be simplistic about it. The laws of nature emerge differently in different lands, different cultures, as I explained in a previous blog. So looking for one set of laws that apply to every nation is not correct, particularly when we consider subtle nuances of the law. For example, I understand that in England, parcels of land are considered an indivisible unit. In cases of inheritance then, an estate cannot be cut up with a portion given to each heir. This may not be the case in other countries.
However, in the extreme, certain rights are inalienable. Which rights are inalienable? You must look within, with clear vision, to get the answer, i.e. to hear ‘the voice of God’. Truth is found not on the surface of your being, but in the depth.

In the USA, the first ‘star’ you will see rising in the eastern sky these early nights is actually Jupiter. Directly above Jupiter, you will see two bright stars. They are the twins of the constellation Gemini. Then, off to your right (South) you will see Orion. I believe most people know how find Orion in the eastern sky these evenings… or at least know someone who can show them Orion. Imagine the three star of his belt pointing in the direction further to your right (South) up higher than Orion’s head and you will find a faint cloud of half a dozen stars called the Pleiades. Only six of the seven stars are visible to the naked eye and barely so. The missing seventh star is the missing sister of mythology.
Between the Pleiades and Orion you will see a bright red star, which is the eye of the bull of the constellation Taurus. Below Orion you can see two bright stars, which are his two hunting dogs, the brighter of which is Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. Orion , the hunter and his two dog stars are forever hunting across the sky for the Seven Sisters of the Pleaides. Betelgeuse is the star of the upper left corner of Orion.
About every evening I run my jyotish computer program to show the location of the planets at the current time in my location. Then I look for the planets. With a little jyotish program experience, it is easy to know what planets will be visible at what time during the night. Over time it is easy to see all the planets. To do so is to feel some sense of connection, some sort of alignment, with the cosmos.

An older English gentleman, being interviewed on the news, said America is losing its Freedom of Conscience. It is represented in the US constitution as Freedom of Speech. I understand other countries do call it Freedom of Conscience. It is a profound and precious concept sometimes thought of as listening within for Truth… the idea that God speaks to you through your conscience.
But is your conscience really free? Are you free to think for yourself? Or has society, your peers, religions and political correctness told you how to think? Do you even know your inner voice or is it your indoctrination masquerading as your conscience? In this age of political correctness, your conscience is under attack: “Think this way or you are vile!” Intolerance is rampant and, as Gandhi said, Intolerance is, in and of itself, a form of violence.
The depth of your being is divine. Human evolution is about living in harmony with the depth of your being. Societies, religions, peers, and everything in a culture… in your environment… support your evolution when that culture is healthy. In this day and age that is a difficult thing to even comprehend. Worldviews are at war with one and other. Conscience has been hijacked by indoctrination. If you are not careful, even the finest of religions, morality, and codes do not free but instead they enslave. They can be used but are often abused. The path of evolution is indeed delicate.
As you evolve, you become free. It is called spiritual liberation. When truly free, your conscience is the voice of the divine. But such freedom is not attained through indoctrination. Nor is it attained through rebellion or anarchy. It is only attained through your evolution… a profound, delicate, highly misunderstood and elusive process.
Freedom of Conscience is a lovely concept, when comprehended and honored.
